CVS North and VG-ES, in conjunction with the Sutherland Partnership, are identifying events and activities being held in Sutherland that could be included in a marketing plan for the County for the Year of Homecoming Scotland 2014.
This opportunity was identified at the 2009 Sutherland Summit and included in the Sutherland Development & Action Plan. With funding support from Highland Council, the Sutherland program will become part of a nation-wide plan of events which will run throughout 2014. There are many local regular and one-off events planned in Sutherland which would be eminently suitable to attract and be promoted to potential visitors for Homecoming 2014 thus showcasing our dynamic and creative County on the international stage.
The plan, along with including and highlighting the county in national marketing strategy will have a dedicated web site www.visitsutherland.org which is being created to include all the events with information including accommodation, eating facilities and transport links.
