Call and Contact Centres
Owing to the increased use of digital and high speed links, the growth of the call centre in the Highlands has been important. Because there is no need to site centres near to customers, the Highlands is an ideal place for investment in such centres due to lower labour costs and an available skilled workforce.
In our "Company Feature" and "Case Studies" pages you will find the stories of two such companies which have located in Sutherland: EssentiaGroup and Nexus. Both operate at the forefront of contact centre technology, and both have benefited from their presence in the county.
It is estimated that in the near future the call centre industry could be employing around 4,000 people across the Highlands, with Sutherland playing its full part in this success story.
